A short article from our friends Weekend ailleurs who visited the Village des Monédières.
Let’s get away from it all and head for the “ toues cabanées” of the Monédières.
But what exactly is a toue cabanée? It’s a typical wooden boat from the Loire Valley, once used for river transport. Here, these boats are fitted out in an eco-responsible way, for a total escape in total comfort!
Floating on the estate’s lake, the toues can be accessed by a small boat, allowing you to be completely cut off from the world once you arrive at your destination.
Set on a huge plot of land bordered by an arboretum, the nature village offers a complete range of accommodation combining originality, nature and comfort. On site, some 30 different types of accommodation, all well spaced out, can accommodate between 2 and 10 people and suit all budgets: trailers, the carré d’étoiles for observing the sky, or Robinson’s Dream, a converted boat hull. A wide range of services are available, including a sauna, a swimming pool, a Finnish grill for family gatherings around the fire, and bike rentals…
